IRCTC disabled 44000 User Ids

IRCTC disabled around 44000 User Ids created by Brokers identified by Mobile nos and Email Ids recently. All these User Ids were created in 2 days after the Tatkal ticket booking time was changed to 10:00 AM.

Tatkal Ticket booking timing changed to 10:00 AM

Indian railways changed the tatkal ticket booking timing from 8AM to 10AM. Tatkal tickets will be issued on or after 10AM in counters and internet.

Normal tickets will be issued from 8AM onwards.

This is the good idea which eliminates the brokers to stand in the queue from early morning and booking tatkal tickets exactly at 8AM.

Eticket paper print out is not required in Train travel

IRCTC informs that the Passengers dont need to carry the Printout of Eticket instead they can show the Screenshot/Softcopy of ticket (in Laptop or tablet or mobile) or they can show the SMS sent by the IRCTC.

We can get the SMS again if lose it. Go to IRCTC > My Transactions > Print Ticket > Get SMS. The SMS will be sent to the Mobile no which was given at the time of Ticket booking.

It is a good and eco movetaken by IRCTC.

IRCTC Mobile site not connecting

IRCTC Mobile site not connecting or not working. IRCTC Mobile website was introduced to ease the ticket booking for Common people who dont have Computer, Net connection and no time to stand in queue.

But the service is going away from its path. The performance of the IRCTC Mobile website is very poor and able to connect in 3G enabled phones hardly.

Initially when the site was introduced I used to book tickets even tatkal tickets .But now I am unable to connect for the past 3 months. What is happening IRCTC?

The good joke is IRCTC scrolls the msg saying the Mobile ticket booking service is enabled from Apr-2012.

Website to check Passenger and Suburban train timings is the site which is more user friendly and faster which gives all the information of Passenger trains timings and Suburban trains of Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad.

It gives all the information Train Schedule, Fare, Alternate ways, Route, PNR status, Running Information etc.

User ID required when booking Train tickets in 3rd party sites

IRCTC has mandated that the Users who books the train tickets in 3rd party sites like Cleartrip, Makemytrip, NGPAY should have the User Id registered with IRCTC. During ticket booking by giving the existing User Id of IRCTC or registering the new User Id only the user can book ticket.

IRCTC tries to block all the back door ways of ticket booking since the travelers always complain they dont get tickets but brokers have the tickets and sell for more money.

IRCTC News - ID card is mandatory to travel in Sleeper class soon

IRCTC is going to introduce the new rule that the Photo ID card must be produced when traveling in Sleeper class too. This rule was introduced in AC coaches on a trial basis. Indian railway thinks this rule will definitely make the brokers stay away in bulk booking.
